Good morning! The next national protest is this Saturday, April 5th. Under the banner of “Hands Off!” we are marching for women’s rights, BIPOC rights, trans rights, LGBTQ rights, Immigrant rights, and many more of the rights that Trump in collusion with Musk are trampling over. You can find a location near you by using this map and clicking on FIND EVENT.

A core principle behind this and all protests is the principle of non-violence. In the middle of any attack (hopefully only verbal) it’s hard to keep your cool and think about a response that will de-escalate. Tonight, Wednesday, April 2nd, there is a safety and de-escalation training session at 8:00 P.M. ET. Just below the map there is a link where you can REGISTER.

Be strong! Be brave! Show the cowardly institutions that caved to Trump’s demands what integrity looks like. Show the world that there are still Americans who can think and who are willing to stand up for our democracy. And have fun, too! I did at this past weekend’s Tesla protest, Betty
P.S. A photo to make you smile

And now the music:
John Lennon was ambivalent about the protests taking place all over the world in 1968. He was torn between direct action and non-violence. He wanted to stand up but didn’t want to be killed. He wanted to demonstrate but didn’t want to get caught up in any violence. Sounds like many Americans today, and justifiably so. But if we don’t stand up, who will? Certainly not Columbia University, or the most recent mega legal firms that caved to Trump’s outrageous demands. We can do this. And we can do this peacefully. There are more of us than those seeking to provoke. I like this take of the Beatles’ “Revolution” because it makes them stand out and stand up.
