Good morning!
On Thursday, the Senate will vote on a war powers joint resolution by Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) that would bar U.S. military action in Venezuela without congressional authorization. Whether or not this resolution will pass in Congress is up for debate, but we must force every politician to go on record either for or against DJT’s attack on Venezuela.
Action:
Call your senators and urge them to support S.J.Res.98 (Senate Joint Resolution 98)—119th Congress (2025-2026)

Senators are also said to be considering another war powers measure that would cover new military actions that could take place in other nations — such as Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Iran, or Greenland — all of which President Donald Trump suggested on Sunday could become targets for U.S. military action. I will keep you posted on any developments.

And now the music:
The lyrics of Venezuela’s national anthem “Gloria al Bravo Pueblo” (Glory to the Brave People) were written by the doctor and journalist Vicente Salias in 1810. The music was later composed by musician Juan José Landaeta. It is said, however, that the melody was known since 1840 as La Marsellesa Venezolana (Venezuelan Marseillaise), in reference to its subtle similarity to the French national anthem. It was declared Venezuela’s national anthem by decree of President Antonio Guzmán Blanco on May 25, 1881.
